Sandstone Head
This gorgeous head of a “Sandstone head of a Jain Tirthankara” from Northern India. It would be a great addition not only to the gay Asian interior but to any house. One wonders how treasures such as this one end up on the art “market”. At some point in time, maybe hundreds of years ago, a sweet face such as this one must have been (illegally) hacked away from a statue at a temple or other building. You don’t imagine this head was made as it is, with a view to selling it? GAY
