Bhutanese Phallic Art

bhutanese phallus

This is not something you can take home with you, but you do find it all around Bhutan, painted on houses. Enormous cocks, gay Asian cocks. it’s too bad Bhutan is a relatively difficult place to visit. I’m sure they could build a thriving gay sex industry with their handsome mountain lads and phallic art all over the country. Finally some Asians who are not ashamed of their manhood.

Tribal Vestments

shaman vestments

These Yao shaman ritual vestments are offered by Asian Tribal Textiles. A lot of shamans are gay, and express their role by crossdressing, so one or two of these tunics might just be the thing to get some much needed attention next time you and your gay Asian boys go to DJ Station. GAY

Sandstone Head

sandstone head jina

This gorgeous head of a “Sandstone head of a Jain Tirthankara” from Northern India. It would be a great addition not only to the gay Asian interior but to any house. One wonders how treasures such as this one end up on the art “market”. At some point in time, maybe hundreds of years ago, a sweet face such as this one must have been (illegally) hacked away from a statue at a temple or other building. You don’t imagine this head was made as it is, with a view to selling it? GAY

Gay Asian Art

thongchai aroonsangsil gay asian art

This work by Thongchai Aroonsangsil is not exactly my cup of tea to put it mildly. It strikes me as something that belongs in the mother of pearl department for elderly Pattaya dowagers. Or Dick’s Cafe. But that is just a matter of taste. The gossip queens at Dongtan will no doubt disagree with me on this, and tell me this is the gay Asian beauty of their dreams. So be it. NOT

Tanachai Ekeuruchaitep

From Liam’s Gallery, comes this fine piece of work by Tanachai Ekeuruchaitep (what a mouthful). I like the dark violet colors, the impressionist (?) style. It should go well with the gay Asian interior. That is of course not the point of art, but well. Deeply unfortunate that the gallery is based in Slutsville all the way in Pattaya. GAY

Bronze Boy

bronzeboy.jpg

This cute figurine is a semi naked Asian youth wearing only a loincloth. He’s splitting open a watermelon, according to the description. To me it looks like he’s splitting a coconut, but what the heck. I think it would be suitable for the gay Asian living room. Available from Grays Antique Dealers

Sexy Shunga

shunsho_27921.jpg

In Japan before the advent of photography “Shunga” erotic woodblock prints were a popular art form. They often feature cocks of gargantuan proportions, which might make them appealing for the gay Asian collector. However, I find all the pussy in the prints distracting. Verdict: NOT

Are there Shungay?

Gilbert & George

dream.jpg

The duo of artists Gilbert and George have always been fascinated by pretty boys and prominent penises, is my distinct impression. Unfortunately it seems they have never discovered the delights of Asian boys, but with a bit of goodwill we can imagine the boy in this image called Dream to be a gorgeous Asian youth. He just colored his hair blond. Very suitable for the gay Asian interior if you can afford one. Verdict: GAY

Male Love In China

love_play_in_china.jpg

This lively tableau shows two adorable young man making merry with drinking, poetry, and lovemaking. It is part of a handscroll on gay themes that dates from the Qing dynasty (18th–19th c.) and is kept in the Kinsey Institute in Bloomington, Indiana. Looking closer, is the one in red fucking the one on top? Hot! Well, such an explicit display is not in order in the office, I guess, but it would make a nice addittion to the lofty walls at the home of a lover of Asian boys.

Royal Barge

woodcarving.gif

The Thai royal barges are masterpieces of handcrafted engineering and woodcarving, as this photo proves. Alas, the royal barges are not for sale, so you can’t expect to get one for your own backyard swimming pool! Instead you might want to visit the charming city of Chiang Mai where there are plenty of artisanal shops that specialize in “made to look antique” one of a kind items that can be suitable for your gay Asian loft. One has to look long and carefully though, there is a lot of chaff.
